Found Poems
Using the book 'M is for Autism', our class created found poetry to define autism...
'M is for Autism' is a fictional book based on the real experiences of autistic girls from Limpsfield Grange School. After reading chapters one and two, the children highlighted key or interesting words or phrases. They then put these together to generate 'found poems' (as all the words are found within another text).
The class produced a phenomenal range of poems that, despite being quite different from each other, really managed to portray the emotions and thoughts of the character 'M'. Hopefully, we will get them typed up and create a class book of poetry.
