The children have really impressed with their observational drawing skills this term. Today we had a go at copying drawings of animals and birds that would be found in local habitats. We used black ink pens and watercolour pencils.
Just a reminder that our PE days have changed to Wednesdays and Thursdays, and also that outdoor PE kits should be worn on those days.
PE kits should be RAPS PE polo top or unbranded navy/white polo top, and RAPS shorts/tracksuit bottoms or unbranded shorts/tracksuit bottoms in navy.
Footwear should be either black plimsolls or trainers. Please no football studs for health and safety reasons.
Here are two great maths games you can play at home to practise key maths skills:

Team Holloway had a great time visiting the Copse and identifying different plant life. Thank you to all of the parent helpers who joined us on our trip!
Our little ducklings hatched on Saturday morning. They were being looked after by Mrs Aldred and her family, who took egg-cellent care of them.
Now two days old, all six are healthy and thriving, with even the smallest now looking much stronger.
We are excited to announce there will be a talent show on the last day of term! We welcome all talents: singing, dancing, telling jokes, story writing and more!
There will be class auditions to decide who will go through to the final which is on the last day of term, Friday 27th May.
Our class auditions will be on Tuesday 10th at 12pm.
If your child would like to audition, they need to be prepared on the day with anything they need e.g name of music track.
Please note, there will only be a few children across the school going through to the final at the end of term. Good luck!
We had a special delivery today of some duck eggs. Our six eggs are sitting happily in their incubator waiting to hatch. We can't wait to meet the ducklings!
In Maths we've been learning about fractions. We've been looking at how to find a 1/2, 1/3 or 1/4 of an amount and today we've been investigating if 1/2 is equivalent to 2/4.
We have some new friends in our class this week - tadpoles. Lots of them! The children are fascinated by them and we are looking forward to observing the changes they will go through and learning more about their life cycle.
The children created some stunning observational drawings in their 'Art to Start' lesson this afternoon. They used real (dead) insects preserved in Perspex to examine and then draw. The results were incredible!
Team Holloway and our reading buddies, Team Dannell enjoyed the lovely spring weather on Friday afternoon. The children love the chance to read and enjoy books together!
