One Childhood, One Chance

Safer internet and Anti-bullying week

How do you stay safe?

This week our values had a focus on anti-bulling. We looked at how diverse we all are and celebrated our differences by sharing what our talk partner our likes and dislikes. We created a drawing of ourselves and what our favourite things are and celebrated how unique all of our work was. During the week we had a lot of discussions around how to be a good friend and we finished the week by doing some role play around the theme ‘someone new, what should you do?’ The children came up with some lovely dialogue and actions to welcome the new child and discussed how they felt being in role as a new member of the class. Also, on Tuesday, it was safer internet day so in the morning we had a big discussion on what we use the internet for and ways to stay safe with the overall message being that if you don’t like what you see then you must tell someone. We then created some beautiful safer internet posters that you will be able to see around the classroom. In the afternoon, we used the Ipads and discussed ways that we could possibly make them safer to use in our school. We then took our ideas to the school’s IT team.
