English

During our guided reading sessions the children have been revising the reciprocal reading roles – summarising, clarifying, questioning and predicting based on a short story. These are the core comprehension skills that underpin the ability to digest and analyse a text.

During writing sessions, the children have been building up their arguments to go into their persuasive speech about becoming a school councillor. Each point has been made, explained and evidenced with the children attempting to include persuasive features such as powerful adjectives, superlatives, conjunctions and even a rhetorical question!
