Team Piper’s First Trip – Our Visit to Newington Library

Our first adventure out of school — exploring stories, rain and all! ☔💚

Team Piper went on their very first school trip today to our lovely local library in Newington. Even though it was a rainy walk, we were so impressed with how sensibly and safely the children walked there. What superstars!

Once inside, the children loved exploring all the wonderful books and enjoyed the small toys and cosy reading spaces the library has to offer. Those who brought in their library cards were able to borrow a book to take home. These books are due back on 1st December, so please make sure they are returned by then.

We will now be visiting the library once every term, so if your child did not bring a card this time, there is plenty of time to get one ready for our next visit. Joining the library is free and such a great way to spark a love of reading. Children can explore new stories, develop their imagination and choose books linked to our classroom topics.

A huge thank you to all the grown-ups who helped us walk there and back safely. That was definitely the biggest challenge of the day for their little legs! We are so proud of everyone for their brilliant behaviour and enthusiasm.

Well done Team Piper, you have made your teachers very proud! 💚
