Road sweeping sensations

Thanet District Council have asked RAPS pupils in year 3 and 4 to design a new road sweeper and come up with a name that will then be chosen for 1 of 4 new sweepers across Thanet. 

We started the day by organising and sorting out rubbish and thinking about ways to reduce, reuse and recycle in our community before heading to an assembly.

After a pep talk with Joe from the council, and demonstrator Dave showing us the new model, we then were tasked with designing the sweeper of our dreams and a catchy winning name. Each class voted for the best name. These names will then be shortlisted and chosen by the judges.

All pupils, if they wish, will have their first names included on the sweeper at the end of the tag line 'Keeping Thanet clean for....'

We had a blast today and are very excited to see what the winning name is !
