Home Learning, Monday 6th July

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. I spent my Sunday at the beach (socially distanced of course!). I might have burned my head a bit, remind me to wear a hat the next time I go Team Gunson! Check out below for your home learning for today.

PE: Time to read this week's Viking Isolation Games blog from Mrs Horrigan and pick a challenge. This week you can choose from weightlifting and baseball; watch the videos and get stuck in! Remember to sent pictures or videos to Mrs Horrigan.

Maths: Arithmetic Test Monday

I have attached this week's test. Try to complete it today in 35 minutes. Remember, pick a few questions you got wrong and go back over it to figure out your mistake.

Maths Challenge: Year 6 Arithmetic Paper 2. Good luck!

English: Reading Comprehension. This is using the Oak Academy website which we have been using for our maths. Today we are going to use it for a reading comprehension focussing on the genre of Biography.

Let me know how you get on.

RE: As we have completed our Earth and Beyond topic it's time to finish the term with our RE. We are going to look at Belief in our Community.

Have a look through the slides I have attached and think about the following questions:

What are beliefs? What beliefs do you think we all share? What shared beliefs do we have in school?

When talking about their religion, many people say that they have ‘faith’. What does this mean? Do you think having ‘faith’ is different to having ‘beliefs’?

Members of religious communities say that having faith helps them make sense of some of life’s ‘big’ questions.

Have a look through the attached Community Groups Cards and the Communities In My Area Sheet. Each card describes a person and either their religion or a community they would like to be a member of. Using the internet, you are to research local clubs, churches, organisations etc. that may be suitable for the people described. Then have a go at answering the questions on the worksheet.
