Daily home learning: Friday 24th April

Its Fridayyyyy!

Friday is the end of another week

Right now things are a bit meek

I know you are all doing such a great job

Did you know you're all as sweet as corn on the cob?

As it's been a while since we've been together

You are all becoming more and more clever

WELL DONE to all of you! Even if you are finding the home learning challenges a bit tricky you are learning new things everyday without even realising. Remember we will all have good days and bad days! That's ok. Make sure you do what makes you happy :) Our emotional well-being is so important during these times. Have a great day!

Maths:

Counting: Can you count how many books you have?

Challenge: Can you collect 5 different objects from around your house (e.g. book, tin of food, cup, jumper, coin). Can you explore these objects and make an estimation as to which one is the heaviest? Which one is the lightest? How can we find out? What can we use to find out how much something weighs?

Extension: Can you collect 10 objects and explore their weight. Can you put them in order of mass (weight).

http://www.crickweb.co.uk/Early-Years.html (Use the Simple Scales to weigh the bears. Open ended activity that lends itself to problem solving activities.)

One of the best ways to teach 'weight' to children is through cooking. I have attached a pdf with ideas and questions if this is something you'd like to do :)
