Home Learning, Monday 11th May

Please see below for Monday's home learning.

Well, another week gone, another week just beginning! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I had a bit of time in my garden, cutting the grass and tidying up. I will be in school again this Wednesday and Friday, so if anyone needs a new work book let me know and I will put one behind the reception desk for you.

Anyway, here is your learning for today:

PE: Have a look at the new PE blog post from Mrs Horrigan and pick something to try this week.

Maths: Time for another arithmetic paper. Please find it attached, try to complete it in no more than 40 minutes.

Reading: There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom Chapter 22

1. What does the word ‘topic’ mean? Can you think of other words for topic?
2. How has the other children’s behaviour changed towards Bradley?
3. Name three topics from Bradley’s list.
4. If you were to group Bradley’s topics into categories what would they be?
5. How would you describe Bradley in this chapter?
6. Do you agree with Claudia that the counsellor will not want to talk about Bradley’s topics? Give a reason for your answer.

English: Hopefully you will have researched some British woodland creatures ready to create your characters, Watch the Time Capsule Education video again, right to the end:

We now need to invent three characters for our stories. You can either choose cards that have part of the information on, OR you can choose blank cards to create your own characters.

Here is the link to the character sheets:

I have also attached the blank character card below.

Topic: IK the life cycle of bees

Today I would like us to find out about the life cycle of bees.

I have attached three sheets for you. One is a wheel that you can cut out to show the life cycle of a bee. The other two are a board game about bees. One sheet is the board and the others are the question cards. If you don't have a printer, why not just see if you can answer the questions on the cards or create your own wheel showing the life cycle of a bee?
