Bonjour la classe!

Maths:

Rapid recap:

In your own words explain what “clockwise” and “anti-clockwise mean.

Today we are going to recap our learning about 2D shapes.

What is a 2D shape? Why are they called “2D”?

Look at 2D shapes.ppt – how many shapes can you remember the names of? Can you learn some new ones? What properties do they have – tell your grown up - how many sides and how many corners

Can you spot any 2D shapes in your home? How many can you find?

Now look at the sheet called Castle and Sun. It is a painting by an artist called Paul Klee using lots of 2D shapes! Do you like it? Can you say why the artist has given it that name?

Today I’d like you to have a go at creating your own artwork using 2D shapes! You can use collage, paint, crayons, pens or pencils! I’d love to see what wonderful pictures you can create using 2D shapes!

Feeling like another challenge? Test yourself with the 2D shape quiz!
