Home Learning, Monday 15th June

Please read below for Monday's home learning.

Hello Team Gunson. I hope you are all well and had a lovely weekend. It has been so long since I saw so many of you but I am really looking forward to meeting up before the end of the school year, even if it is only for a few hours.

Anyway, here is what I suggest you do as your home learning today.

PE: Mrs Horrigan has set some new tasks for our Viking Isolation Games. Read through the blog post and have a try at one of the tasks.

Mental Maths: Doubles. Choose doubles that will provide a challenge for you.

Maths: This week we are going to look at 'translation' . Today we will have an introduction to translation.

You will start with a quiz to test your knowledge. Then we will have a video lesson followed by a worksheet. We will end with a final quiz to test what you now know.

English: Today we are going to look at some more SPaG questions. I have attached the learning below.

Topic: IK: the names of the planets.

The Earth is part of a group of planets. Scientists believe we are the only planet in our group which harbours life. Our group of planets is  called the ‘solar system’. Solar means sun, deriving from the Latin word for sun which is ‘Sol’. System is a set of things which work together.
There are 8 planets in our solar system and we order them according to their closeness to the sun.

I would like you to learn the order and names of each planet, including the correct spelling. Remember, planets are proper nouns and therefore always begin with a capital letter. Draw a picture of the planets in the solar system, or use the worksheet I have attached, and label it.
