Home Learning Friday 27th March

Please see below for today's learning.

A big shout out to everyone who sent me pictures of their learning yesterday, particularly first time senders Danika and Kathryn; it was lovely to hear from you. Also Aaron, really sorry buddy, all of your pictures were sat in my spam folder, but it's sorted now!

Lots of you got the riddle, the answer was to simply 'stop imagining'.

Todays riddle: If an electric train is travelling north at 100 miles an hour, but the wind is blowing south at 100 miles an hour, which way would the smoke from the train blow? Aaron, this one is for you!

Maths: Multiplication and division. Read through the attached sheet and have a go at answering the questions. Some are just straight forward multiplication and division, some are asking you to use your higher order thinking skills to explain how things are done.

English: Thinking back to our work on Ancient Greeks and the myth work we did I'd like to set a task to write a myth. You can choose any ancient civilisation to set it in. Maybe you'd like to choose the Vikings or Anglo Saxons. I've attached some sheets as a prompt plus a video about Beowulf you might like to watch for inspiration.

This task should take a few days, so why not plan it today and write it over next week? Remember the features of myths.

Topic: We already learned about the Jutes taking over Kent and Thanet when we found out about Hengist and Horsa. But did you know that Thanet and Kent were also where Christianity started to spread through England when King Ethelbert invited over a monk called Augustine? Maybe you might have heard those names before.

I have attached a powerpoint and some sheets about how this happened. The sheets are 1 star, 2 star and 3 star. The more the stars, the trickier the questions. It's a bit like our 1, 2 and 3 chilli questions in maths. You can choose which sheet you would like to attempt in your learning journal.

Good luck everyone and keep sending me your pictures!
