Tudor toys and games

Finding new joy in old games

In our topic learning we have been looking at toys in history and how they have changed over time. We have learnt that materials, technology and contemporary fashions influence the toys and games children play as much now as throughout all time. We were inspired by Pieter Bruegel's painting from 1560 "Children's Games" to try out some popular Tudor games many of which are still played today such as Blind Man's Buff, Hide and Seek, Leapfrog and Skittles!
