Heroes in our Community

This term our topic title is "Our Heroes" and we have been learning about the different heroes we meet every day - our heroes at home, heroes in school and this week we learnt about heroes who live and work in our community. We learnt what a community is - a group of people living and working in the same place. We were able to name many of the important jobs our community heroes do to keep us safe, make us well, put out fires, teach us, look after our pets, build our roads, care for our teeth to name but a few! On Wednesday and Thursday we focused on the police. We learnt about all the different jobs the police do and learnt about their uniform and how it has changed over the years - we even made a timeline to show this!
