Christmas Show Update

Dear Parents,  

Always an optimist, never a quitter and this is very much the way I live my live and run RAPS but today I find myself having to make a very difficult decision. On one hand I have 2 groups of children who have practiced for weeks their Christmas production and just can’t wait to perform this live. On the other I have the knowledge that I have a large proportion of my staff who are now isolating, along with several children due to Covid and the fact that I am about to invite 90 sets of parents in a hall although wearing face masks but still mixing together. For about 45mins. If one is carrying Covid then that could potentially ruin someone else’s Christmas.  

Despite Boris saying that Nativities and Christmas shows should go on, with the information I have available to me now I am not prepared to take that risk of our communities' health over Christmas and with regret the performances will not be performed in front of a live audience this time. The children’s performance will be recorded and we will send out the link to this asap so you can enjoy the recording together. 

I know my decision will have a mixed response and some might say why didn’t I make this decision sooner but I have always said that I would assess each performance on the knowledge and information I have available to me at the time.
