This week, as usual for the beginning of a new topic, the children created their Art 2 Start - a piece of artwork that encapsulates the topic they will be learning about...
As our new topic is 'Living Alive', and the children will be looking at microorganisms and mould in some lessons, we created the effect of growth in petri dishes. This was accomplished by getting a tray of water, dropping in some blobs of marbling ink and swirling them around. Next, the children dropped in a piece of cartridge paper and left it to dry for a couple of days. Once done, they could draw around the petri dish (to get the correct size) and place inside. They certainly look effective!
