The Speaker

There has been a drive across the school to work on and develop the oracy of the children. This includes their ability to consider and organise their thoughts and share these in a deliberate and thought-provoking manner. All children were set the task of writing a speech to answer the question, 'Is it a wonderful world?'...

Within class, we then had a competition with those who wished to enter and selected two class winners to progress forwards to the school final. This was held on Thursday and all of the Year 6 competitors (Scarlett and Remi from Team Beraet, and Zofia and Phoebe from Team Williams) were BRILLIANT.

All four of them produced knock-out speeches that impressed the judging panel with their content, vocabulary and delivery. I am glad I did not have to be a member of the panel, because choosing winners from them was practically impossible! Each of them should be immensely proud of themselves - I know the rest of the class and I are proud of them too!

A special mention to Zofia, who did make it through to the Trust final, where she will compete against the winners from Chilton and Upton. All the best Zofia!
