The Highwayman

We have begun to read Alfred Noyes' 'The Highwayman' this week in our guided reading, and used this as the inspiration for some love letters...

The children chose which of the main characters they wanted to write as and, using similes and metaphors (that make a key component of his original text), composed a letter professing their undying love to the other protagonist. After editing on Thursday, we wrote our finished letters up on 'old' paper. Although I am clearly biased, I think they look amazing and read fantastically well! Great start to the term's writing guys!
