Formal Letter Writing

This week we are using our class novel 'Clockwork' to inspire us to write persuasive letters. Read on below...

Karl the apprentice clockmaker is supposed to have created a new clockwork figure for the great clock of Glockenheim. This is a huge event, as every apprentice has added their own figure for over a hundred years. The Burgomaster of Glockenheim has needs to write a formal invitation to the residents of Glockenheim for the grand unveiling . What could possibly go wrong...

So far we have explored the differences between formal and informal language, studied how a letter is laid out (see picture) and have put together our plan in order to persuade people to come to the event. We look forward to sharing our finished writing with you!
