Good morning, Team Amin!

Roman numeral or not?:   CXXXX     XLVI     XIX       DCIIII    DCVI

True or false:      3757 >  3577          4705.0 > 4705          3/5 <   8/10         201010 < 201001

Yesterday, we practised 1 step worded problems so the next step up is two-step problems! Obviously though, Miss Amin wants to reallllllyyyyyy test your understanding so I am giving you a mix of 1 step and 2 step questions. You will need to read the questions very carefully to know what to do! Good luck! I am sure you will do really well because you are all real Maths stars!

E: Listen to the next chapters of Varjak Paw if you haven’t caught up already.

TASK: Leading on from yesterday’s task that was aimed at getting you to think about Varjak’s experiences in the book so far, today you are going to plan for writing an informal letter home to the rest of the Mesopotamian Blues that are Varjak’s family about how Varjak is coping on the Outside as he hunts for a dog to save them!

Today, I want you to focus solely on gathering information that can support your letter when you come to writing it tomorrow so:

  1. Create a list of all of the positive things that have happened so far for Varjak (e.g. finding friends, saved by Holly and Tam, freedom)
  2. Create a list of all of the negative things that have happened so far for Varjak …

I imagine you could get 5/6 points onto each list AND as usual, I appear to have started you off too!

Done? Can you remember the key features of a letter?

RWInc: Please find the relevant spellings and story text attached below for On Your Bike with today’s learning task.

Topic: Quick question: Where are cacao beans found/grown in the world? Name three countries. Can you remember what is so special about their location? Where can all of the countries be found near?

We are thinking about how chocolate is produced today. Yesterday’s videos were really useful and provided some great information to start you off. You may like to rewatch them or you could watch this which I really enjoyed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_JuQCiKWUc

Read through the Powerpoint in the Home Learning section: ‘How chocolate is produced’ and then choose a task from the selection on the final slide. The PP has its own video link too so watch out! A blank storyboard has been attached below in case it is of any use.

Extra activities:

Viking Games: Take a look at the latest Viking Games challenge set for you by Mrs Horrigan.

R: Access the class reader Powerpoint if you haven’t already and listen along and/or read a chapter of a book of your choice. I have added chapters for you recently.

Have a smashingly good day! Happy learning! Don’t forget to send me emails/pictures!
