Hi everyone!

Mr McAuley, Martyn Harvey and I have really enjoyed making these videos for the writing competition, we really hope that you have enjoyed watching them. In this final video, Martyn and Mr McAuley are announcing the competition and what we are looking for in a winning poem.

Remember, "a master has failed more times than an amateur has tried", so get exploring, write some poetry, do some drawings and then maybe find another creature and go through the same process again.

We would love for you to enjoy this writing and illustrating process because we think that will shine through in your poems.

There is a poster below to explain where to send your poems!

Good luck, I can't wait to start reading your entries.

RE: IALT explore the story of Ruth and Naomi.

Over the next few lessons we will be looking at some Bible stories which might be less familiar. Why do you think the Bible has so many stories? What is the purpose of them?

Today we will be reading the story of Ruth. Read through the story on the slides I have attached. What do you think is the purpose of this story? Why is it important to Christians?

One of the main messages from the story of Ruth and Naomi is that friends stick together. Ruth didn’t have to go with Naomi but she followed where she went because she loved her and wanted to make sure she wasn’t alone. Can you think of a time you stuck by a friend when they needed you? Can you think of a time you needed a friend and someone was by your side?

Look at worksheet 2C, and list as many qualities of being a good friend as you can, then write down an example of you being a good friend to someone, and someone else being a good friend to you.
