Stop Motion Animation

Take One Picture - Animation inspired by Battle of San Romano by Paolo Uccello 1435-1460

Back in September Mr Brown worked with Team Aitken to create a piece of art work inspired by the painting 'The Battle of San Romano' by Paolo Uccello. The children picked out elements from the painting that they liked which were mainly the horses and the soldiers. We talked about what they might hear if they were at the battle, how the horses and soldiers might be moving. A Stop Motion idea was born out of the idea of movement in the picture and inspired by our topic at the time. We were coincidentally looking at early animation in our topic 'Playing Past and Present'. The children painted the back drops and choreographed the figures. They also made all of the sound effects to go with each scene. A great deal of time and effort went in to making this short film and a lot of fun was had! https://vimeo.com/418477622 the password is San Romano
