When we talk about the threats to the rainforests we often focus on the animals that live there or how deforestation affects us thousands of miles away. Often, we neglect a significant group - the people who have called the rainforests their home for many generations. 

There are many tribes who live in harmony with the rainforests and whose way of life is under threat due to deforestation. I would like you to find out a little about some of these people. You might wish to compare how their lives are similar and different to our own. Think about clothing, diet, housing, entertainment to name but a few of the areas you could consider.
