Children must be at school at 8:00am as the coach will be leaving promptly at 8:15am. Unfortunately, if your child is not at school and on the coach by 8:15am, they will not be able to go on this school trip and will have to remain at school.

All children must:

• Wear school uniform.
• A packed lunch (no egg, no nuts)
• A drinks bottle (no fizzy drinks or glass bottles)
• Waterproofs (it will probably rain and we are outside most of the day)
• Sun cream (if needed)
• Children will need to carry everything for the day and will not be able to leave things on the coach

Children do NOT need to bring any money to the event as there is nothing for sale.

If your child takes any medication (that is not already in school), this needs to be given to the office on the day of the trip, so we can take it with us.

Please continue to them to only practice on Multiplication Tables Check - Mathsframe, the mock version of the test. It has been key in them getting more used to the timings (six seconds per question) of the check.

We would like the children to be as prepared as possible and the best way to do this is practice, practice, practice. At school we have been using Multiplication Tables Check - Mathsframe, which is a mock version of the test. Times Tables Rock Starsis great fun and a really good way to increase their fluency. 

We have had some great results already, and seen direct improvement within a week when they have practised more, so please encourage them to spend a little time each day on either of the sites mentioned above. 

Term 5 is now upon us and hopefully it will bring the good weather with it. It's another exciting term with lots of fun learning, as well as a class trip!

PE (outdoor) is now on Mondays, so please make sure your child is wearing an appropriate PE uniform on this day.

It was lovely to see so many of you at the Extravaganza at The Granville on Tuesday. It was a fantastic night, we were all so proud of the children.

To prepare the children we have been using Multiplication Tables Check - Mathsframe. We ask that you practise as often as you can on this at home to ensure your child is ready for the test.

In our practices at school, we have had some great results already and these could be even better with more practice.

The children worked together to move and make several shapes.

They thought about things and places that made them happy and drew them, made freeze frames about them and acted a scene about them.

The children will also be shown a timetable of the day each morning so they know what their routines will be.

This morning, we watched the final with the winners from each class. We really enjoyed hearing Amber's speech again and cheering her on!

During the day we will be completing lessons around 'How to be a Lion' by Ed Vere and taking part in exciting workshops throughout the day. Children will also receive a book token to spend in a local bookstore.

This term is an exciting one, with lots of activities planned for the children.

Our PE days will be Monday (badminton) and Tuesday (Outdoor Adventurous Activities).

In Topic, we will be studying Food for Thought. This is a really intersesting topic about the food we eat, how we digest it, and all about our teeth and the teeth of animals.

The Rosetta Stone contained some names, names were contained in cartouche. The children had the opportunity to try and decipher the names using magnifying glasses and a hieroglyphic alphabet.

During the day, the children will be learning history study skills and taking part in a historical investigation. The children will then present their finds to the class.

WORLD BOOK DAY

This year World Book Day is on Thursday 7th March. We will be focussing on one text as a whole school, with many different activities. Children will be encouraged to bring in their favourite book, so please start alking to them about books they love and which one they might like to bring in!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas break! It's always a busy time of year seeing friends and family but also a time for a much-needed rest after a long autumn term.

The spring term is always an exciting one and we have lots of exciting things planned, so please keep an eye on the class blogs!

This term we have PE on Mondays and Tuesday. You will need your outdoor PE kits on Monday and indoor kits for Tuesday. Please could you also ensure that your child brings a coat every day.

This afternoon, we celebrated our performance with our party. The food was great (thanks parents!) and fun was had by all whether they wanted a calm afternoon film or a dance.
