If your child would like to join in, please can we ask that they also come to school dressed in clothing that is quick to dry and comfortable/safe for them to wear in a water fight - shorts, a t-shirt and sensible shoes. They are going to get very wet if previous years are anything to go by! 

They will also need to bring a change of clothes in a waterproof bag so that they can change straight into dry clothing after their water fight, along with a towel, underwear and anything else they might need!

All children are invited to bring in their own named water pistol if they would like to as well. The school will also provide some to use. 

Chris performed lots of songs we recognised and demonstrated how to play the guitar. Chris has lots of slots available next year from September for guitar and drum lessons. If you wish to watch Sports Day, parents will be let onto the field at 8:50 ready for a 9am start. Sports Day will finish at 11am.

To ensure your child remembers these skills, please continue to practise reading various clock displays.

The children had the opportunity to see and stroke farm animals they hadn't seen before, they tried new foods grown locally, some had the opportunity to shear a sheep, we learnt how cows are milked and we saw dancing sheep!

The tables they find tricky are the 6s, 7s, 8s, 9s and 12s.

Children must be at school at 8:00am as the coach will be leaving promptly at 8:15am. Unfortunately, if your child is not at school and on the coach by 8:15am, they will not be able to go on this school trip and will have to remain at school.

• Waterproofs (it will probably rain and we are outside most of the day)
• Sun cream (if needed)
• Children will need to carry everything for the day and will not be able to leave things on the coach

Children do NOT need to bring any money to the event as there is nothing for sale.

If your child takes any medication (that is not already in school), this needs to be given to the office on the day of the trip, so we can take it with us.

Please continue to them to only practice on Multiplication Tables Check - Mathsframe, the mock version of the test. It has been key in them getting more used to the timings (six seconds per question) of the check.

The children will need to bring their swimming kit in a bag and wear their uniform. Children will be taken to the pool in the minibus and will have their swimming lesson before changing and returning to school in time for pickup.

We would like the children to be as prepared as possible and the best way to do this is practice, practice, practice. At school we have been using Multiplication Tables Check - Mathsframe, which is a mock version of the test. Times Tables Rock Starsis great fun and a really good way to increase their fluency. 

We have had some great results already, and seen direct improvement within a week when they have practised more, so please encourage them to spend a little time each day on either of the sites mentioned above. 

This term will be a great one! Firstly, we will start the term with our new flexible seating. This gives the children the opportunity for the children to choose the type of seating that aids their learning best. We also have a trip to Detling for the Living Lands Trip (we still need some adult helpers; please do get in touch if you are able to help).  And we have lots of great learning opportunities along the way.

Team Cialis have swimming on Thursday. All children must therefore bring their swimming kit. We also have dance on Wednesday so bring PE kit.

To prepare the children we have been using Multiplication Tables Check - Mathsframe. We ask that you practise as often as you can on this at home to ensure your child is ready for the test.

In our practices at school, we have had some great results already and these could be even better with more practice.

The children worked together to move and make several shapes.

They thought about things and places that made them happy and drew them, made freeze frames about them and acted a scene about them.

The children will also be shown a timetable of the day each morning so they know what their routines will be.

There were some amazing costumes.

We were lucky enough to have a drama workshop with Ms O who taught us about characterisation.

We also wrote, directed, and costumed a play based on the book, How to be a Lion by Ed Vere.

She didn't get to the Viking final this time, but there's always a chance for her to win next time!

During the day we will be completing lessons around 'How to be a Lion' by Ed Vere and taking part in exciting workshops throughout the day. Children will also receive a book token to spend in a local bookstore.

Our PE days will be Monday when we have Outdoor PE.

In Topic, we will be studying Food for Thought. This is a really intersesting topic about the food we eat, how we digest it, and all about our teeth and the teeth of animals.
