RAPS Topic: Viscosity Experiment

This week, Team Amin have been exploring the viscosity of liquid to help us think about lava and its resistance to flow. Following an interesting discussion about whether lava is liquid or solid and on the meaning of this new bit of vocabulary, we thought about how we could test different liquids and their viscosity and designed our own experiment which we carried out this afternoon. We learnt that water had the lowest viscosity and flowed quickly and smoothly compared to other liquids like honey, oil and shower gel. We learnt that slime took even longer than shower gel to travel, though we remain undecided on its actual state. Thank you to our little helpers who timed and recorded for us.
