Re: KS2 Performances Dear Parents/Carers, Always an optimist, never a quitter and this is very much the way I live my life and run RAPS, but today I find myself having to make a very difficult decision. On one hand I have 2 groups of children who have practiced for weeks their Christmas production and just can’t wait to perform this live. On the other hand I have the knowledge that I have a large proportion of my staff who are now isolating, along with several children due to Covid and the fact that I am about to invite 90 sets of parents into a hall, although wearing face masks, but still mixing together for about 45mins. If one is carrying Covid then that could potentially ruin someone else’s Christmas. Despite Boris saying that Nativities and Christmas shows should go on, with the information I have available to me now I am not prepared to take that risk with our communities' health over Christmas and with regret the performances will not be performed in front of a live audience this time. The children’s performance will be recorded and we will send out the link to this asap so you can enjoy the recording together. I know my decision will have a mixed response and some might say why didn’t I make this decision sooner but I have always said that I would assess each performance on the knowledge and information I have available to me at the time. I thank you for your support in advance. Best wishes Mr Nick Budge Head of School
Friday 10th December 2021:

Re: Christmas Fayre 10th December. Dear Parent/Carer, we had originally planned to have the Parent Council Christmas Fayre outside in the playground but looking at the weather forecast on Friday this is unlikely to be possible. We are still keen to go ahead with this event on Friday 10th December from 1.30-3.30 so we have decided to limit the numbers of parents and carers on site at one time. We are allocating the following timeslots for parents to attend:
1.30-2.30-Parents of Reception , Year 1 and Year 2
2.30-3.30-Parents of Year 3,4,5, and Year 6
The above are only guidelines for timings as we understand that some parents have children across Key Stages or have work commitments. Please remember to also wear a face mask when in the school building.
Children may go home with their parents when they have finished looking around the Fayre.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in advance. Merry Christmas from the Parent Council and the RAPS Team.
