Year 2 team x
We love Christmas in Year 2, but this week we have been delving into Christmas traditions all around the world! We have lots of new facts stored in our heads now about what Christians and different communities of people do around the world throughout the festive period – from eating fried chicken to singing and drumming to rotten potatoes! Why not ask us to share a new fact with you?
Santa arrived at RAPS this morning and Team A-M enjoyed visiting his grotto! We had lots of fun telling Santa what we were hoping to get for Christmas and listening to a story! Ask us all about it.
Team Amin-McCurry spent their Thursday afternoon designing their own invention to reduce plastic waste and/or help the world in a kind or useful way! We particularly enjoyed drawing machines that would help scoop and zap litter from our roads and oceans! We cannot wait to share them with you!
Today, we added colour to our wonderful townscapes! We cannot wait to finish them and see them up around the classroom and building! Ask us all about it! Why not challenge us to make our own Christmas inspired townscape?
Well done Year 2! What a super performance of 'Lights, Camel, Action' and what a fantastic start to Christmas show season too! You were confident, enthusiastic and absolutely brilliant on stage and we are very proud of all of you for your efforts during rehearsals, on stage today and for showing your resilience in the lead up to the show as well.
From show to party, thank you parents and carers for your continued support as always with costumes, lines, party food and smiles - we know the Year 2 children were so very proud to share their extravaganza with you and to then celebrate with some lovely food!
Ask about our favourite part of the day!
We love Mindfulness Monday at RAPS! Today was lots of fun - some of us made Christmas cards, some of us played Top Trumps and Uno! Some of us used our junk modelling to construct and some of us made some stunning stockings! Some of us practised our handwriting formations with shiny gel pens… and some of us decided to change our reading corner! Ask us what we got up to this morning!
We love Christmas in Year 2! Today, we thought about showing gratitude to friends and family around us in our English lesson by writing our own Christmas kindness messages! Have a look at us in action writing our cards, which we then decorated with finger paint robins and reindeers. We cannot wait to share them with our loved ones!
Please find this week's spelling words attached for next Friday's spelling test - the last spelling test of 2025!
Christmas has arrived at RAPS!
