What a Fantastic First Day in Reception!
Settling in, exploring and making new friends
We had such a lovely first day together on Friday! The children did brilliantly finding their name pegs and have already started learning where everything belongs and what Reception is like!
We spent lots of time exploring our new classrooms and playing with all of the class toys. The children also loved getting outside into our new outdoor area, playing on the stage, exploring the tuff trays and beginning to share, play and make new friends. It was lovely to see them becoming more confident as the day went on.
Coming into school in smaller groups and for shorter sessions at the beginning really helps us get to know each child properly. It also gives the children time to learn our routines, become familiar with their new environment and begin to feel settled and secure.
A little reminder 🏷️
Please remember to name all items that come into school, including water bottles, jumpers, coats and all other clothing. This really helps us make sure any misplaced or found items find their way back to the right child!
