Learning Our First Sounds- Team Gilbert

We have started our Read Write Inc. (RWI) phonics sessions, learning one sound each day. The children have done so well in their first few sessions!

After each short sound session on the carpet, the children try forming the letter in their own book. At the moment, we are focusing on pencil grip, good posture for writing and correct letter formation to help build their confidence in writing.

Your child will bring home practice sheets for the sounds we are learning. These are yours to keep, so you can revisit them whenever you have a little time. They also have QR codes linking to short videos you can watch together to practise the sounds at home.
