Art to Start

Today in Art to Start, we kick-started our ‘Incredible Earth’ learning by making fiery volcanoes! We explored a range of collage techniques, bending and layering cardboard to create magma that appeared to burst out from the page. After studying photographs of volcanoes and how they erupt, we scrunched, twisted and layered different types of tissue paper to build texture and movement. Finally, we flicked and splattered paint across our artwork to create dramatic, violent eruptions!
