Which Weighs More?
In maths, we worked on Step 2: Compare mass, part of our White Rose unit, Talk about measure and pattern.
The children held different objects, feeling their weight and comparing them to decide which felt heavier and which felt lighter. We practised using “heavier than” and “lighter than” to explain our ideas.
Try it at home: Choose two safe objects, such as a spoon and a potato. Can your child hold one in each hand and tell you which feels heavier? Can they find something lighter than the potato?
