Enjoying literature

In Team Amin, children regularly get the chance to read independently through free choice. This means that  children can pick books from the reading corner or the banded book area or will read a book that they have brought in from home. Sometimes, however, some children decide that they would like to read together in our wonderful reading corner so someone gets to pick Miss Amin's reading book! Today, it was "Dave's Cave", which we read, enjoyed and discussed together! How clever that we were able to recognise examples of Non-Standard English so quickly and explain what they would be in Standard English!
