The Friendly Summer Sports at RAPS

They are all good sports at Ramsgate Arts Primary as the annual summer games events highlighted.
Competition between the various year groups was friendly, with participants supporting each other in a variety of activities and sports.
Events included everything from space hoppers, archery and javelin throwing, to football skills, obstacle courses and long jumps, all designed to be inclusive and fun.
Year 6 pupils did a brilliant job helping run the Key Stage 1 activities, with Year 5 children supporting Reception, showing their great promise as future leaders.
A soft drink stand organised by the PTA added to the community feel, with parents cheering the young competitors on as well as joining in their own tug-of-war challenge.
RAPS PE lead Alice Piper said: “The focus throughout was on teamwork, sportsmanship, and participation, with children earning points for their house teams across all activities.
We were also supported by our sports coaching company, TeamTheme, who helped run activities and kept the energy high throughout the events."
"I have such a passion for sport and feel really proud to be PE Lead at RAPS. Sports Day is always a highlight of the school year and it is amazing to see the whole school come together, with children encouraging each other, showing off their skills, and just having fun outdoors.”
