RAPS’ Sunshine Festival of Fun

A late summer festival of fun celebrated the community spirit of Ramsgate Arts Primary.
The school’s second annual RAPSFest was a big hit with children, families, carers and staff who united in a joyful celebration that featured a wide range of activities, games, stalls and attractions.
From tote bag printing and wildflower planting to the ever-popular bouncy castle, face painting, glitter tattoos, friendship bracelet making, lucky dip bags and the bottle tombola - there was something for everyone to enjoy.
Children (and a few daring adults) lined up to take part in classic favourites like ‘Beat the Goalie’ and ‘Soak the Teacher’.
Live music brought extra energy to the event, with fantastic guest performances by vocalist Coralie, singer-guitarist Charlie Hannah and a DJ set from Jon Henfrey.
The talented RAPS Choir wowed the crowd with conductor and composer Naomi Hammerton, while Year 4 dancers lit up the stage to showcase their energetic choreography thanks to dance teachers Lizzie Prince and Dani Batchelor.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of the Parent Council, an impressive total of more than £3,800 was raised. All proceeds will go directly towards new play equipment for the children – a lasting legacy from a truly memorable day.
Head of School Nick Budge said: “Once again our school community has come together, supported each other, and enjoyed a fabulous afternoon of smiles, laughter and togetherness.
“The event is now firmly established and it is a positive way to enjoy the start of our new academic year together.
“We were blessed with a sunny day that shone on our celebration of everything that makes our school so special - creativity, community, and a caring and sharing attitude. Here's to next year.”
Ramsgate Arts Primary is part of the Viking Academy Trust with its partner schools Chilton Primary in Ramsgate and Upton Juniors in Broadstairs.
