Funtastic RAPS Fest
Local neighbours joined in with the whole school community to celebrate the annual festival of fun at Ramsgate Arts Primary.
It is the first time that the school’s nearby residents have been invited and the initiative was a big success.
The fourth annual RAPS Fest was once again organised and run by the school’s energetic Parent Teacher Association to raise funds to provide additional opportunities, experiences and resources for our pupils. This year saw a record £3183.50 generated by the event.
A fantastic line-up included performances by local singer and performer Thomas Abrahams, the RAPS band, and Albert, last year’s school talent show winner who gave a fantastic performance accompanied by Reuben on the drums.
The atmosphere was wonderful, with families pitching up their blankets and settling down to listen to the music while the children enjoyed exploring all the stalls and activities on offer.
The varied range of activities included arts and crafts, face-painting, glitter tattoos, friendship bracelets, lucky dip bags, plus food and drink.
Head Teacher Nick Budge said: “What a terrific celebration of our school and the wonderful community around us.
“We were so pleased that so many of our neighbours accepted our invitation to join us – they were able to see first-hand what makes our school so special and experienced the fantastic community spirit that makes our events so memorable.
“A huge thank you goes to everyone who came along and supported the event, and especially to our PTA volunteers, performers, staff and families who helped make RAPS Fest another winning celebration of our brilliant school.”
Ramsgate Arts Primary is part of the Viking Academy Trust with its partner schools Chilton Primary in Ramsgate and Upton Juniors in Broadstairs.
