Big Smiles and Lots of Fun for RAPS New Pupils

Four year olds are already settling into life with a smile at Ramsgate Arts Primary School in Ramsgate.

The new Reception group has already explored the specially-designed building, played with games and toys, enjoyed a range of activities in the outdoor play area including dressing up and met their new classmates.

Although the beginning of term marked the official start of their journey at RAPS, this group has already met at a teddy bear’s picnic hosted at the school before the end of the summer term.

Head of School Nick Budge said: “We welcomed them and their families to an outdoor picnic so they could meet children they would be starting school with in September.

“It was a valuable exercise and you could see the children teaming up with each other very quickly again when they joined us in the last week.

“Starting school is a huge step for any young child and their families. Our new pupils clearly felt comfortable and safe in their new surroundings, and they had already met their teachers and other staff.”

Ramsgate Arts Primary School focusses on specialist teaching of arts subjects including dance, music, drama and art, in specially-designed studios, while also delivering a broad primary curriculum.

Ramsgate Arts Primary School is part of the Viking Academy Trust with Upton Junior School and Chilton Primary School.
