A Trip to Blean Woods

On Tuesday 20th May, Team Williams will spending the day at Blean Woods.

As part of this term's 'Our Precious World' topic, we will be undertaking a field trip to Blean Woods. The aim is to investigate the wildlife present and learn about the traditional forestry practice of coppicing, where trees and shrubs are repeatedly cut back to near ground level, encouraging new growth.

Can you please ensure you send your child in wearing suitable clothing and footwear as we will be out in the woods walking for 2–3 hours. The weather forecast at the moment of writing is good but our amazing weather has been known to change its mind at a moment's notice, so sensible shoes (no crocks) and a raincoat should be worn.

They will also need a drink (nothing fizzy), snacks and a packed lunch.  The school will provide a lunch if needed.

We will be back at school by around 2.30pm, so pick-up time will be 4.15 as usual.

Many thanks for your help with the above. I'm sure the children will have a fantastic day.
