We have had a very exciting week in year 1. We have started our new topic ‘The Magic Toymaker’ and we are loving it. We started the week with a knowledge harvest about toys and we listed as many as we could think of and what their purpose was. Then we had our entry point where the magic toy maker and his wife visited our school and took us to their workshop. We were given lots of fun tasks to complete and even had to make our own toy. The magic toy maker was so impressed that he has employed us to work in his factory! Later in the week we brought in our toys from home and shared why they are our favourite. Finally we had to pretend how we would feel if we lost our toy and we created lost posters using the key features. What a fun week we have had and we are so excited to see what the toymaker has in store for us next.
