This week in maths we have been learning how to add numbers... We have been looking at adding ones, tens and hundreds onto a 3-digit number and at the end of the week we were adding 3-digit numbers that did not involve regrouping using concrete resources and, for some, the formal column written method. We will introduce the regrouping element next week for those are are ready to move on.

It has become apparent too that the children are not confident on rapidly recalling their times tables. By the end of this year the children should be able to recall their x10, x5, x2, x3, x4 and x8. Currently many of the children only know their x10. Please take the time to practise these in a fun way as often as possible. If you search 'Bubble Multiples' or 'Hit the Button' on an internet search engine you will find some games that the children can use to develop and practise their tables knowledge.
