Tuesday's English - 28/4/20

Today, the story continues with Christophe’s time at school. You will need to read pages 14 – 19…

Today, we will be dealing with a horrid situation within the book, where our main character is the victim of racism. We will discuss this issue in greater depth when we return to school. It is important that we deal with these issues, however, as unfortunately they do still happen in our society. It is important that we address this and think about the experience that Christophe (and other people in real life) has gone through and how he must be feeling.

I would like you to write a letter AS Christophe to Babi (his grandfather who is back in Rwanda), to say how you have settled into your new school. Here are some themes you could mention:

  • Your new teacher
  • Learning to read
  • Jeremy
  • Playing football.

Remember the key features of a letter and to include your opinions and feelings about these different events. Attached is a PowerPoint that outlines the key ingredients for a letter.
