Volcanic Viscosity!

We have been learning that there are three main kinds of volcano: composite, cinder cone and shield. But why do they look so different? We conducted an experiment to test how far more and less viscous lava would travel. Using syrup, oil, washing up liquid, milk and water we tested to see how far they would travel from an erupting volcano and how that might make volcanoes grow in different shapes.
