Royal Harbour's 200th Anniversary

On Friday, we joined the festivities taking place to commemorate the bestowal of 'Royal' status to the harbour 200 years ago...

Along with a number of other schools, we headed to the harbour to participate in a series of organised events. After a tour and talk around the lifeboat station and a stop for lunch, the main focus was on a series of workshops run by the emergency services by the main sands. Here, the children were spoken to about the importance of testing your smoke alarm with the Fire Brigade; tested out riot shields and got handcuffed by the police; learned a bit more about how to safely conduct CPR and discovered the role of volunteers in transporting life-saving blood and plasma to patients in need. Attached are a number of photos from these various activities.
