Subtraction stories

This week in maths we have been looking at subtraction within 10. We know that subtraction is the same as taking away and so we used subtraction stories to help us write number sentences. For example, First, there were 4 birds. Then, 2 flew away. Now, there are 2 birds. Can you ask me to come up with subtraction stories at home?
