Geography this week...
What a week in topic !
This week in topic we have been diving head first into our 'Incredible Earth' with lots of practical learning and model making !
Year 4 learnt about how the earth is divided up into Northern and Southern hemispheres, the Equator, the tropics of capricorn and cancer, as well as learnt about the layers of the earth. The children particularly enjoyed making a mini-model to show the layers of the inner core, outer core, mantle and crust that make up our beautiful planet.
Today we explored the way tectonic plates move using frosting and paper representations of the tectonic plates. We also spoke about how the earth's crust can be compared to the shell of an egg, fragile and moveable with the inner core being the yolky centre.
