Maths or art?

Over the last couple of weeks in maths the children have been learning about shape. We used this knowledge to create artwork in the style of Kandinsky...

After learning about the different types of lines, angles and 2d shapes, the children were shown examples of art by Wassily Kandinsky. They then had to create a plan for a piece using a list of 'ingredients' from a checklist of shapes, lines and angles. Once done, the final pieces were made using pastels. I think you will agree that they look superb!
