27/03: Home Learning

It is FRI-YAY! Happy Friday, Team Amin

We have made it through our first week and I cannot express how proud I am to be a teacher and YOUR teacher at the moment! I will see some of Team Amin in school today, but for the rest of you staying safe at home, give yourselves a BIG pat on the back. You have absolutely WOWed me this week.

Tasks:

First job of the day: find your adult and scream HAPPY FRIDAY to them (provided no-one at home is still asleep or easily frightened)! We are almost through our first week of home learning!

Spelling: Complete your spelling test! Don’t forget to tick, circle and fix when you mark it. You can find the spelling words in your folder/Spelling section.

Journal: If you have started the journal, write in your next entry if you haven’t already. Discuss the past few days. What have you done? What have you enjoyed? What haven’t you enjoyed?

M: Practise your number bonds (15mins), doubles (15mins), halves (15mins) and your times tables (15mins). Use Hit the button for this!

W and T: Continue with your booklet about PLANTS! You can include information like ‘What is a plant?’, ‘Interesting plant types’, ‘How do plants grow?’, ‘Features of plants’ and any other interesting headings you might like to write about. Don’t forget your illustrations!  Send me more information about new plants you have discovered! Send me pictures of your booklets so far/finished. Remember, I can learn from you too.

Extra activities:

R: Access the GG Powerpoint and listen along to Groosham Grange and/or read a chapter of a book of your choice. Do you have a sibling in this house? Maybe you can do a paired read with them today seeing as we cannot join Team RB like we usually do.

Art: Sit yourself on the floor in your favourite space at home. Look ahead of you and around you. What can you see? Have a go at doing an observation drawing from the perspective of where you are sat! Use a sharp pencil, be careful with your lines and, if you are brave, include some shading too! You might do this on plain paper and stick it into your workbook.

Spycam: Google Edinburgh Zoo Live Cam and see if you can spy any animals going about their ‘home learning’! I spotted some penguins and koalas yesterday afternoon!

Have an absolutely amazingly happy Friday and a RELAXING weekend. Happy learning!
