Have a lovely half term

It was a very busy term 1 so we hope you all have a lovely, restful break.

On Friday we sent home some RWI resources that may help practice your sounds at home. One of the sheets is titled nonsense words (alien words) these are just fun ways to build words to test your child's phonic knowledge. There is no set expectation for what you should do with these resources but more for you to see the progression of the phonics and reading red words.

The more often the children are exposed to the sounds they have learnt in school and the more opportunities they have to apply this knowledge through their reading and writing the more progress they are likely to make. We know this year has been very strange and we know the children have missed lots of school so we all need to work together to give the children the best opportunity to successfully continue their school journey (little and often, even  just for 5-10 minutes a day, will really make the difference).

Have a lovely week everyone,

Mrs Barnes, Mrs Fetherston and Mrs Clarke
