Our final activity... Sensory trail!

Our final session on site was a sensory trial, which was brilliant to watch! The children were all blindfolded and followed a rope through (or over/under) a series of obstacles...

Whilst a little nervy for the person at the front, the skill of communication was essential! Those at the beginning of the line needed to explain what they were experiencing to prepare those coming after. After each obstacle, the person leading the group was led to the back and then the team continued onwards.

There were narrow passages, low ropes, tunnels, tiers, cargo nets and a maze to navigate. If the children became separated at any point, the panic word of 'potato' alerted others and allowed the team to reconnect.

At the end, our guide keep the children going in circles which looked humorous to those of us not blindfolded!
