Environment Day

On Friday the whole of RAPS enjoyed an Environment Day to coincide with the COP26 summit in Glasgow...

In Year 6, we discussed climate change - looking at the causes and the consequences. We also explored the linked ecological crisis and the loss of Earth's many species due to habitat loss and hunting. There was also an opportunity to explore reusing and recycling old resources such as clothing with a team 'washing line sculpture' challenge.

Whilst looking at the theme of caring for our environment, there was also time for an assembly delivered by the local council who spoke about the blight of litter and what we can do about it!

Please have a chat with your child about what they learned and if possible, watch a couple of the news broadcasts about the summit and talk about it with them.
